I met Ashley a number of years ago while she was supporting our business through a few different people-challenges (in both the US and CA).
Fast forward a few years and a unique situation arose with a first-year small business. As most small businesses, this company mixed family and work all into one place. The mix simply wasn’t working. The employee/ family member was losing business, not showing up for work, and causing many internal conflicts with other staff that was putting the entire operation at risk. The individual also had a very challenging personality, and the owners needed a trusted, educated, and quick moving support structure which they found in Ashley.
Ashley met with the ownership, sympathized with their position and put an action plan into place. She also supported the termination from start to finish with what was arguably a very very very challenging removal. My EP release concert event was a spectacular success because of Ashley’s hard work. I met Ashley back in 2017 while I was working for my old company. Optimum HR Solutions Inc was hired on as our HR consultant, and Ashley was assigned as our consultant as we were going through a revamp on annual reviews, employee handbooks, and other essential HR components.
During this time, I met with Ashley while I was working as a seasonal inspector . I will be honest, it wasn’t under positive circumstances that I met Ashley. I made an error while scheduling which caused a meeting to occur with my former manager and Ashley. What I didn’t expect was that this meeting was about to change my professional career for the better.
Ashley presented me with a variety of implications of that error I made. How it would affect the client, myself, the company I work for etc. Ashley allowed me to see things in a very different perspective. It also forced me to look at the bigger picture – whatever it is you do, always be mindful of your personal brand.
I ended up letting go of some of my bad habits and after I graduated university, the Company offered me a full time role and then promoted me within 1 year. After 6 years with that company , I have since left and joined a prop tech start-up that has exploded in the GTA market. I still have Ashley on speed dial….
